“Business is business!”  In the white heat of cut-throat competition, that statement declares that personal feelings or moral considerations can be suspended in the pursuit of profit.  As in love and war, “All's fair” in business. Or is it?

Not according to two giants of business who are the subjects of the first two in our new series “In God’s Company”.  Each of them – world leaders in their field – built empires worth billions but did so with absolute integrity, caring about the quality of their products, service to their customers and the treatment of their employees.  There were no shady dealings.

The first has been in the news lately.  The is no other name in the world more instantly recognizable in connection with travel that Thomas Cook.  But how did it all start?  A devout Christian, his great passion was to bring people closer together and nearer to their Creator by making “God’s earth with all its fullness and beauty” accessible and affordable to all.

Today William Hartley would be applauded for establishing a brand that made him immensely wealthy, yet his aim was not material success but to “serve the Lord every day to the best of my ability”.  His business practice reflected his faith, earning him an outstanding reputation for integrity, quality and customer care.  A man of great compassion, he used his wealth to enrich the lives of others.

We hope you’ll agree, these are compelling stories which will challenge and encourage a wide Christian and non-Christian audience.  Don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like more information or posters to adverstise the event at your church.
